Butterfly Finger Puppet

A fun use of all the pretties collected in our colour sorting tray.

You will need:
⋒ A5 coloured paper
⋒ Pencil
⋒ Scissors
⋒ 2 x sheets of contact (slightly larger than A5)
⋒ Gathered flowers & leaves

1. Fold your paper in half & draw half a butterfly, with the body lining up with the folded edge.
2. Cut out your butterfly shape.
3. Cut out the inside of the wings.
4. Peel the backing off one sheet of contact & place your butterfly in the centre, sticky-side up.
5. Fill the wings with your collected flowers & leaves.
6. Once complete, peel the backing off your second piece of contact & press it firmly on top, sealing in the flowers.
7. Cut off the excess contact.

To turn it into a finger puppet simply cut a small strip of paper & tape it onto the back to fit the finger of the little flyer! We also added two thin strips as antennae.

Your butterfly is ready to take flight!
If you would like your butterfly to last longer it is best to use pre-dried flowers.

Have fun!
