Festive Potato Stamps

Potato stamps with a festive twist! Gather your cookie cutters & create the sweetest DIY Chrissy wrap!

We used: Tree, star, candy cane cutters, plus an egg ring for circles!

You will also need:

⋒ Potatoes

⋒ Knife (for the adults)

⋒ Acrylic paints

⋒ Brushes

⋒ Paint pens / textas

  1. Cut a potato in half lengthways. Try to cut as straight as you can.

  2. Press your cutter into the centre so that it goes in about 0.5-1cm deep.

  3. Using the knife, cut the same depth around the edge of the potato, allowing the blade to go right up to the edge of the cutter.

  4. Pull away the excess potato, leaving the cutter shape in the centre.

    You’re ready to stamp!

You can choose whether you dip your stamps, or apply paint with a brush. If dipping, make sure your paint has been poured onto a flat surface like a paper plate, and spread it around a little before dipping to avoid getting too much on the stamp.

For the Santa: Paint circle stamp with 3 stripes; red, a skin colour & white. Once dry, add face details & hat pom pom.

For the pudding: Paint circle stamp 1/3 white, 2/3 brown & stamp. Once dry, stamp red berries using a cotton tip, & green leaves using a rosemary sprig.

For the candy cane: Use a candy cane cutter for the shape & cut out segments to create the stripes when stamping.

Ho, ho, have fun!
