Butterflies

Dress up the humble loo roll & send it fluttering around the backyard!

You will need:
⋒ Toilet roll or kitchen roll cut in half
⋒ Felt sheet
⋒ Patty pans
⋒ Pipe cleaners
⋒ PVA glue/ tape
⋒ Texta

1. Cut the felt to size, apply glue & roll around your loo roll.
2. Flatten a patty pan, add face details & paste on the front.
4. Flatten two more patty pans for wings & paste on the back.
5. Add pipe cleaner antenna.
6. Secure string so the butterfly can fly!

Young ones will need guidance with steps & help with securing the materials.
Don’t stop at butterflies! Wrap around a pipe cleaner to make buzzy bee stripes, or add pom poms for ladybug spots 🐝 🐞
TIP: if you’ve got one, a glue gun saves the trouble of having to wait for the PVA glue to set.

TIP: we used eye stickers, much easier for little hands than googly eyes (and a tad better for the environment) 👀
