Sultana Box Seed Kit

A bloomin’ cute gift idea for Mum!

Ages: 6+

You will need:
⋒ Empty sultana box
⋒ Coloured paper
⋒ Pipe cleaners x 3
⋒ Gluestick
⋒ Tape / glue gun
⋒ Scissors
⋒ Double-sided tape
⋒ Greylead
⋒ Seeds of choice

1. Wrap coloured paper (we chose orange) around the outside of your sultana box & stick down.
2. Cut a strip of the same coloured paper & stick around the top of the box using double-sided tape to create the rim of the pot.
3. Poke your pipe cleaners into the back of the box, trim if necessary.
4. Design your flowers on the remaining coloured paper, cut out & stick to the top of the pipe cleaner stems using a glue gun or tape.
5. Fold a small paper envelope, write a sweet message for mum on the front & carefully pour the seeds in.
6. Pop the seeds into the pot (along with some planting instructions if necessary).
7. Your seed kit is ready to gift to mum, or nan, or anyone special!

We love upcycling! If you don’t have a sultana box on hand you could create the same idea using an empty matchbox.
